Make Use Of The Mine In "Dominion"

Dominion starts each player with a deck of copper and a few estates. Playing the Mine, however, will let you upgrade copper into silver, and eventually gold. If you can do this enough, you will enjoy the buying round a lot more.

Instructions

1. Scan the Kingdom cards for alternative ways to dump your copper, such as Chapel and Remodel. If either of these are available, consider buying one of them instead.

2. Buy the mine if you don't have another way to get rid of your copper. Otherwise, your continued draws of copper will prevent you from reaching high purchase power.

3. Play the Mine to trash a copper card from your hand and replace it with a silver, or to trash a silver card from your hand and replace it with a gold. Remember that the new treasure you get can be instantly spent to buy cards.

4. Upgrade your copper to silver in the early game, when you want to make sure you don't have low-value hands with only a few copper. This will make sure that you can always buy something decent on your turn.

5. Focus on upgrading your silver to gold later in the game, rather than worrying about your remaining copper. Having more gold will increase the chances of being able to afford the end-game cards you really need.
