Drywall is a building material made of gypsum plaster sandwiched between two sheets of paper. It is simple to install and often cheaper than other materials. To make a wall composed of drywall look good, seal the seams with a drywall adhesive, also called mud or joint compound. The adhesive is also a gypsum plaster compound. If mixed improperly, it will not seal the seams and may cause cracks to appear in your paint over time.
Instructions
1. Add 1 to 2 gallons of cold water to your 5-gallon. bucket.
2. Pour in your plaster powder.
3. Mix the plaster powder with the water, using a drill fitted with a mixing paddle. Hold the bucket with your feet hugging it to prevent the bucket from spinning or falling over. Slowly mix until the joint compound has a cake batter-like consistency. Add more joint compound powder if the mixture is too wet or more water if it is too dry.
