Use self-leveling concrete to level the floor when repairs are necessary or when a new floor surface is needed. One way to easily create a concrete self-leveling floor is to use a concrete floor resurfacer. This type or product is self-leveling, which means you do not need a trowel or any other tool when applying it.
Instructions
1. Clean the floor to remove dirt and debris. Use a broom or a vacuum.
2. Apply bonding adhesive to the floor. Add one part of the bonding adhesive to every two parts of water to dilute the bonding mix. Use a trowel to spread the bonding adhesive over the floor.
3. Turn on the cement mixer and set it between 250 and 500 RPM.
4. Add 5 qts. of water to the cement mixer and then add a bag of the concrete floor resurfacer.
5. Pour the floor resurfacer from the cement mixer into a bucket.
6. Place the floor resurfacer directly onto the floor in strips about 1 foot across. This process must be continuous because the resurfacer will begin to set in about 20 minutes.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until the floor has been completely covered with the resurfacer.
8. Clean the cement mixer and other tools while the concrete floor resurfacer dries. Wait 24 to 48 hours to walk on the floor.
