Hang Pictures In Drywall

Hang Pictures in Drywall

When the time comes for you to hang a picture, a wall stud is not always available and you need to hang it directly into the drywall. While hanging your pictures from the drywall may not be as secure as hanging your picture using a wall stud, it is definitely possible if you have the right tools. Choose the location where you will hang your picture carefully, though, because harsh tremors can make the picture's anchor even less secure.

Instructions

1. Purchase a picture hook that can support the weight of your picture. It is best not to hang a picture frame that weighs over 50 pounds from the drywall alone.

2. Hold a picture hook against the wall at the height where you would like to hang your picture. Nail a picture hook into the wall at a downward, 45-degree angle.

3. Attach the hanging mechanism at the back of the picture frame to the picture hook. Pull down on the picture frame gently to ensure that the hook nail does not bend or twist in the drywall.

4. Tilt the picture to the right or the left to make it hang at the correct angle.
