Drywall residue will end up on the floor when working on DIY projects.
Residue and dust over the floor is a common hazard when cutting and working with drywall. Sometimes renovation projects take longer to clear up than the actual job itself. The drywall dust will settle between the boards in wooden floors, which can be a problem when cleaning up after completing a renovation task. You can clean away the dust and residue in only a few minutes without the need for specialist cleaning products. A homemade cleaning solution will make the cleaning up operation stress free and inexpensive.
Instructions
1. Sweep up the drywall residue with a long-handled sweeping brush. Sweep the deposits into a dustpan and discard in the garbage can.
2. Vacuum the wood floor and use the narrow headed attachment to clean between the boards.
3. Mix 1/2 cup lemon juice, 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol, 1/2 cup olive oil with 1 gallon of warm water in a large cleaning bucket. The ingredients will not harm the wooden floor and produce a shiny finish.
4. Dip the mop into the bucket and wring until damp. Mop over the wooden floor with the cleaning solution until you achieve a shine.
5. Allow the floor to air dry before stepping on it.
