Denturist Schools

Denturists work with partial and complete dentures.

Denturists are those that work with jaw impressions, dentures and aligning the teeth. Denturists typically work in Canada and some parts of the United States. In the United States, dental technicians are another name for denturists. To work as a denturist, students must attend an accredited denturist school and have a license. Licenses are usually provided by the state or province in which the student lives.

Bates Technical College

Bates is the only college in Washington state that offers a denturist program, according to the Bates Technical College website. Once they complete the program, students can take the examination for state licensing in Washington or Oregon. They learn about anatomy, physiology, microbiology, ethics, office management and laboratory techniques. Students receive training at the Bates' Denturist Clinic. They have the option to complete a one-year certificate or a two-year associate degree. Financial aid and scholarships are available to all students.
