Remove Certainteed Siding

CertainTeed is a North American manufacturer headquartered in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. The company manufactures many construction materials, including gypsum, railing, roofing, decking, fencing, trim and siding. CertainTeed's vinyl siding is installed like any other vinyl siding and is designed to be both aesthetic as well as functional. However, like any other vinyl siding, constant weather exposure may cause it to crack or it may become discolored with stains.

Instructions

1. Start at the top of the wall. Insert a zip tool into the bottom edge of the CertainTeed vinyl siding and pull up to free it from the channel lock.

2. Continue to unlock the bottom edge of each piece of CertainTeed siding from the top of the wall to the bottom using the zip tool.

3. Start back at the top of the wall, folding the unlocked edge of the CertainTeed siding upward to expose the nails underneath that fasten the next lower piece of CertainTeed siding. Pull the nails out with a pry bar or nail puller.

4. Work again from the top of the wall down toward the foundation removing the nails from each course or row of CertainTeed siding until you have removed all the vinyl siding from the structure.
