Sign children up for a music class to tap into their creative spirit.
The magnificent outdoors may be exciting for some, but in Anthem, Arizona, the outdoors may consist of scorching heat and excessive sun exposure. Introduce children to an indoor play area when roasting outside becomes too much for children to handle. Anthem offers several options for indoor activities that enhance a child's social skills and creativity.
Plaster World
Kids looking for hands-on fun should experience Plaster World. Open Thursday through Sunday for the public, Plaster World allows kids to paint, draw, design and experiment with their artistic abilities. Upon entering the building, kids choose a sculpture to decorate. The sculptures include animals, letters, plates and other random items separated by different price points. Once a child chooses an object, he goes to a table where he paints his item any way he chooses. When finished painting, it goes to the kiln to be baked. The kiln seals the paint through heat, so it can be taken home.
The Play Fort
The Play Fort is an indoor playground and jungle gym for children. Upon entering the Play Fort, children are greeted with several bounce houses in different sizes and shapes to climb, jump and slide around. Walk to another area of the Play Fort; children 2 and older can go in the jungle gym, while babies can swing under the gym in safety swings. A small kitchen is also available for preparing bottles, vending machines for snacks and a lounge area for parents to sit while children play. Parents are free, but children cost a small fee, or parents can purchase monthly memberships.
Outlets at Anthem: Kids Play
Kids Play is a free program put on through the Outlets at Anthem shopping mall. The once-a-week, hour-long program, is for parents, toddlers and preschoolers. Mother Goose, a costumed character, sings and dances to entertain the children and offers a snack at the end of the program. When finished, parents and children can stroll through the outlet mall and eat lunch at the food court.

The Community Center also offers preschool for children ages 2 to 5 to prepare for Kindergarten and strengthen social skills.
