Homemade candy mints are simple to remove from their molds.
You can almost always find candy mints in local grocery stores, but it can be more impressive and fun to make candy mints from scratch to hand out to guests. Regardless of what type of candy mold you use to make the mints, it's important that you remove them properly so that they don't break or crack. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Instructions
1. Fold a clean towel in half, leaving it about the size of the mold or bigger. Lay the towel on the counter. Place a clean sheet of wax paper over the top of the towel. Flip the mold over carefully and quickly onto the wax paper.
2. Hold each side of a rubber mold. Twist your wrists in a forward and backward motion, twisting each wrist in the opposite direction of the other. Do this until all the mints fall out onto the wax paper. If necessary, lightly tap the back of the mold with your finger if the mints are not coming out on their own easily.
3. Tap the back of each piece of candy lightly using the back of a spoon if using a metal mold. Lift the mold slightly to make sure all the candy has broken free. If not, lay the mold back down and continue to tap on problem spots. Check to ensure all candy has been released from the mold.
