Add a new bathtub faucet to your shower area.
Install a single-lever bathroom faucet to update your shower. This project requires the assembly of several parts, including the faucet's cartridge, handle and trim piece. Follow your manufacturer's guidelines for installation to complete the job. Each faucet installation is slightly different, but for most faucets, it follows a basic outline. You'll need some experience handling tools and assembling appliances, but plumbing knowledge is not necessary.
Instructions
1. Turn off the water supply.
2. Affix the plaster guard to the head of faucet and apply the plaster by mounting the drywall to your bathroom walls. Cut an area for the faucet into drywall before installing it with the drywall screws and the power drill.
3. Remove the plaster guard and the faucet cover. Slide the cartridge into the faucet head and turn it to the right until the "hot" symbol marking appears on the left. The seals in the cartridge must line up with the holes in the faucet head to fit properly.
4. Slide the retaining nut over the cartridge and turn it to the right to tighten. Place the O-ring on the faucet head and slide the sleeve and the spacer on top of the O-ring. The sleeve is the part that covers the faucet head. The spacer installs behind the sleeve. Turn the sleeve to the right to tighten it.
5. Slide the escutcheon and its back plate (if applicable to your model) over the faucet head and install it by tightening both screws with a screwdriver.
6. Place the handle on the cartridge stem so that the hot and cold markings face left and right respectively. Tighten the handle with a set screw, using an Allen wrench.
