The sheetrock may be new but installing creates dust.
Sheetrock is a brand of gypsum board, also commonly called drywall, that is produced by USG. Once the Sheetrock is hung and the joint compound is applied and sanded down, a considerable amount of dust will be left on the walls from the finishing process. Before painting or priming the walls, it's important that all the dust is removed from the surface. Failure to do so will make it difficult to paint the walls and result in a poor finish.
Instructions
1. Put on your dust mask so it is securely around your face.
2. Fill a bucket with lukewarm water and dip the micro-fiber tack cloth in it and wring it out. The cloth should be damp, but not wet.
3. Place the ladder in one corner of the room and climb to the top.
4. Wipe down the wall with the micro-fiber tack cloth, working your way from top to bottom. As the micro-fiber tack cloth gets loaded with dust, dip it in the bucket and wring it out to clean it.
5. Work your way around the room until all of the walls have been wiped down.
