Use concrete slurry to bond new concrete to old concrete.
Concrete slurry is used as a glue to bind old concrete to new concrete. It is especially helpful when patching cracks or holes in existing concrete, and for applying stucco over the top of concrete board. Slurry is also used to smooth the top of a concrete surface like counter tops. Many people make the mistake of mixing new concrete to patch the holes in their driveways or walkways. It may hold for a while, but by simply adding concrete slurry as glue, the new concrete will bond to the old and the patch can last as long as the original concrete. Making the slurry is simple.
Instructions
1. Fill a large bucket with dry Portland cement.
2. Mist with water the area where you are planning to use the concrete slurry. Make sure the concrete that will be patched is wet when you apply the slurry.
3. Add water to the cement slowly. Stir continuously as you add the water. Add enough water so that the mixture is the consistency of wet paint.
4. Dip a paintbrush into the mixture and paint it into its intended spot. Move quickly, before the slurry has a chance to dry.
5. Immediately apply the concrete slurry to patch your holes, smooth counters or apply stucco.
