Hi-Lift jacks are made for lifting vehicles off-road.
Hi-Lift jacks are a brand of vehicle jacks made for use primarily in off-road environments. The jacks have been in production for over 100 years, and their off-road purposing makes it common for them to be used as a jack on various models of Jeep.
Instructions
1. Chock the opposite wheel of the end you are going to lift. For instance, if you are going to lift the front passenger wheel, place chocks in front of and behind the rear passenger wheel.
2. Stabilize the Jeep to prevent tipping of the vehicle when it is lifted. Place the stabilizer under the frame near the wheel to be lifted. Crank the stabilizer until the top is firm against the bottom of the frame.
3. Place the jack under the bumper closest to the wheel to be raised, in line with the wheel. Ensure that the base of the jack is on firm, level ground. Check to see that the reversing latch is all the way up. The latch is the lever on the side of the jack near the bottom. The jack will not crank up if the latch is not up.
4. Hold the jack in place, and pull the handle until it comes loose from the clip holding it against the jack. Slowly move the handle up and down until the bottom runner of the jack comes in contact with the bumper.
5. Continue to pump the handle until the wheel being raised is far enough off the ground. When the wheel is lifted, lock the jack handle back in place against the jack.
6. Crank the stabilizer until it is firmly in place on the bottom of the frame to support the load.
7. When you are ready to lower the load, remove the stabilizer and move the reversing latch all the way down. Unlatch the handle from the jack, and crank until the wheel is on the ground and the bottom runner is no longer in contact with the bumper.
